DEAR TEACHERS, PARENTS, AND PROSPECTIVE DELEGATES,
It is my distinct honour to welcome you to the 26th iteration of Vancouver Model United Nations. As the largest high school student-run Model UN conference in North America, VMUN typically welcomes over 1,400 delegates, staff, and chaperones each iteration. I am pleased to announce that, for the first time, VMUN will be hosting committee sessions in both the Hyatt Regency Vancouver and the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. This year’s iteration will be spanning from January 29th to January 31st, 2027.
Since its inception in 2002, VMUN has consistently provided a realistic and engaging simulation of the United Nations and its associated agencies for passionate youth who share an interest in global issues. This year, we are excited to continue this legacy by offering a high-quality conference experience and an extensive programme of 20 diverse and innovative committees. From debates on human rights in a technologically advancing world, to deep dives into historical eras of political and economic turmoil, VMUN is proud to offer an experience where students can truly challenge their ability to debate and collaborate in the face of pressing concerns, arming them with the diplomatic and analytical skills needed in an ever changing world.
In addition to offering an enriching educational experience, VMUN is proud to provide considerable need-based financial aid. Accessibility is core to VMUN’s philosophy, and we believe that no delegate should be prevented from attending the conference and denied the experience of a lifetime due to financial constraints. As mentioned earlier, VMUN 2027 will again be hosted at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Vancouver in the heart of downtown Vancouver (vancouver.hyatt.com), in addition to the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel (fairmont-hotel-vancouver.html). A long-standing partner of VMUN, the Hyatt Regency Vancouver offers modern and comfortable guest rooms as well as expansive conference spaces. Likewise, the Fairmont carries stunning conference rooms, with a luxurious decor, as well as equally well-furnished guest rooms.
