Please read the following information before proceeding with the registration process:
Dear Delegates,
My name is Stuart Warren and I am your USG Delegate Affairs for this year’s conference. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you, whether you are a newcomer or a veteran, to VMUN 2012. We have an absolutely stellar lineup of Staff and Secretariat this year that is working diligently to make VMUN 2012 the best VMUN yet, and I know that the delegates will do the same.
There are a few things I need to communicate to you about the registration process this year.
Dates:
Like last year, we will offer multiple priority registration periods. Early Registration opened on September 28th, with a fee of $165 including both conference and hotel costs, and will continue until October 27. Afterwards, normal registration will close on November 30th although delegates may still be able to register up to the 16th of December for a late fee depending on availability.
| Sep 28-Oct 10 | Early Registration $165 (Country Selection Priority A) |
| Oct 11-Oct 27 | Early Registration $165 (Country Selection Priority B) |
| Oct 28-Nov 12 | Regular Registration $180 (Country Selection Priority C) |
| Nov 13-Nov 29 | Regular Registration $180 (Country Selection Priority D) |
| Nov 30-Dec 16 | Late Registration $200 (Country Selection Priority E) |
If we have received your registration and confirmed your payment, your country and committee will be assigned at the end of each of the five registration periods. Within the registration periods, your application’s priority will not be affected by the time received, but remember that if your payment is not received or confirmed by that time your registration will be processed at the close of the next registration period! Because earlier registration periods confer priority over later ones, it is not only to your financial benefit to register as early as possible, it will greatly increase your chances of getting your first-choice country! I strongly recommend you register with us early.
As for rooming, like last year, we will coordinate rooming lists with the head delegates and teacher chaperones of each respective school.
Before you register, I’d like to advise you to read over the Committees Overview letter from the USGs of Committees, which contains invaluable information about the conference and committee selection, as well as the first few chapters of the Delegate Guide, which is a great resource about everything to do with MUN (new chapters of the delegate guide will be posted periodically).
Finally, I remind you that position papers will be accepted up to two to three weeks prior to the conference. I encourage you to write position papers regardless of your committee, and remember to put your best effort into them, because we are introducing a Best Position Paper award for 2012!
I really look forward to seeing everyone, delegates and chaperones alike, at VMUN 2012. I hope your conference experience is a fulfilling and enjoyable one. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Stuart Warren
